Gerber had some fun with me this week. When I called them out to tell them about a good friend of mine having the last name Garber, they simply knew an acknowledgement would suffice – and nothing more.
In the screenshot of my tweet below, you’ll see that they responded to me with a simple smile. That’s all that was needed in this scenario.
The impressive thing is that Gerber is not necessarily a brand that uses humor to increase brand awareness. For a rather serious company, however, they understand that positive sentiment can come in many forms. Just because I used humor doesn’t mean they need to be funny back to me. It’s a lesson for all brands out there on how to engage without compromising the tone of your brand.
