I live by the ocean. One of the joys for a lot of people here is to sail away under the hot beautiful weather without a care in the world.
Let’s be honest. That sounds great. It is great. It’s one of the most relaxing and care-free ways to enjoy one’s self.
But that’s just one way to look at it.
While ships that sail can be as pleasant of an experience as anything in comparison, it’s the ones that don’t sail that have an even stronger negative effect on us. Maybe it’s the failure of capitalizing on such a heightened anticipation or perhaps it’s the fact that one’s self-worth is in question at that point. But either way, it has a polar opposite effect.
Relation-ships are an example of the first type mentioned. They take us away on beautiful unpredictable adventures. The ride is usually nothing short of amazing, no matter where you end up. You are exposed to more things than ever before.
Partner-ships are a prime example of the latter. It’s a ship that is never balanced in the water. It’s a vessel that bobs up and down due to the constant lack of agreement between the two sides. Worst of all, it’s the ship that usually has no clear destination.
Now, a sole proprietor-ship… That’s quite an incredible journey as well.
