You’d think that Bing would try to be even cooler than Google. You’d think that second place wouldn’t be good enough to a company that has struggled so much to gain market share. You’d think engagement would be important to such a product/business so that they could touch and impact more potential users.
But you’d be thinking incorrectly on all accounts.
Bing, the second largest search engine in the U.S. by search query volume, surprised me by not responding to my tweet regarding Christmas music. The opportunity was laid out for them, yet they failed to take advantage of what could have been a great social media conversation.
In the screenshot below, you’ll see my tweet to them and immediately notice the emptiness in the @reply section.
Without proactive social media involvement, Bing will undoubtedly remain stagnant in their ongoing attempt to surge the search market. Engage with potential users, guys. Otherwise, people will continue to allow Google to take over the world.
