It’s much easier to avoid making the commitment. You free yourself of responsibility and there are never any expectations from anyone. 

If you surprise and delight instead, you are constantly being thanked for adding the unexpected value.

I’m experiencing this right now with this blog. I can’t always hit “publish,” but you’ve come to expect a post from me every day.

Maybe it’s time I stop making that promise. I’d hate for you to be disappointed with me.
