What You See Isn’t What You Get

You get your interpretation of what you think you see.

Take a pair of shoes for example.

  • A popular student sees the shoes as a fashion statement.
  • A basketball player sees the shoes as a tool to allow them to play better.
  • A shoe salesman sees an opportunity to buy the shoes and sell them to someone willing to pay more.
  • A poverty-stricken child sees the shoes as protection for his worn out feet.

At the same time, they are still shoes to everybody.

But what you get out of them, that’s what makes them so uniquely valuable to you.
