Please Update Your Copyright Dates

Even if you don’t choose to maintain your website, please do yourself a favor and update your copyright dates in the footer of your websites.

By now, it’s already March. Not having the proper code in place to ensure that your website’s copyright date automatically changes to 2016 by now is a problem on its own.

But this is a much larger PSA than that.

There are far too many sites that keep their copyright dates out of date. And I’m not just talking 2014 or 2015. I’ve seen live and active sites that expect to garner traffic that still have 2011 as their copyright date.

I don’t know about you, but a lot of my trust leaves with me when I see that on a website.

Because at the end of the day, if you can’t even update such a simple element of your website, how can I expect you to care about me as a customer?
