Consumers won today. And they did so with the release of the new iPhone release.
So what has happened recently?
In a nutshell, after Apple released its new phone, it was a race to the bottom for the service providers. The big players kept offering up more than the next to outshine competitors and try to take advantage of Apple’s new “unlocked phone” option.
And it’s smart if you’re solely looking at gross adds as a KPI. But this is a business. Numbers matter.
That’s why the consumers are who won in the end.
The truth is – it got ugly along the way.
There is no love lost between the CEO’s of these providers. They publicly bash each other on Twitter. It’s become a form of entertainment all of its own.
